Not a good day.

Got the bad news today….instead of our fourth and last chemo, Marlie got the diagnosis that she has lung mets. Need some time to let it sink in.

Sorry to hear the news, but the game isn’t over by any means! Jerry survived another happy 10± months after we discovered his mets. Consider checking out the metastasis treatments document in the Tripawds Downloads blog. Search the forums or post there for much more advice and support from others.

That lung met news can hit you like a freight train. I still remember how stunned I was. Allow it to sink in and then come up with a new plan. There are still options.

Keep planning to kick cancers butt for a very long time but also make sure you cherish every single day. The thing with cancer is we can never know just how long our beautiful pups will get.

    Hugs to you and Marlie

I remember getting the news from the vet about mets being found. It felt like someone kicked me in the stomach. Then I realized that no matter what, I was not going to let the news ruin one single minute that I had with Cadence. Just because mets have been found, does not mean its the end of the road. There are plenty of dogs that have gone on to fight the mets and have lived a happy and fulfilled life. This is just another chapter in your journey with Marlie. Marlie does not realize what is going on and just wants to have you by his side loving on him. Enjoy Marlie and cherish your time together.

That’s a scary one. Yikes. I fear for it, too. But I hold onto stories like Jerry’s where he lived with mets for 10 months. The war isn’t over, just a new battle. You can do it!
